The Seahawks traveled to Pasadena, MD to face the Cougars of Chesapeake High School. The game was a battle of two undefeated county teams. South River started the game immediately putting pressure on the Cougars keeper in opening minutes. The majority of the opening twenty minutes were dominated by the Seahawks front line with numerous shots on goal only to be stymied by the Chesapeake keeper. South River finally broke through when Megan Curtner passed low to Makenzie Shields who shot past the keeper for a 1-0 Seahawks lead. The South River defense of Morgan McLean, Mia Piazza, Elizabeth Bills, Rebecca McClenahan, Kayla Hannon, Kayla Bobick and Kelly May allowed only one shot on goal the first half which was saved by Jordan Vincent. South River was unable to add to the lead and took the single goal lead into halftime. The second half started out as the first half ended with several shots on goal by the Seahawks but the Cougars keeper continued her fine play to keep the half scoreless until the 60th minute. At that time Maddie Bonzella passed to Ashley Tarjick who scored for a 2-0 lead. Chesapeake pressed hard in the final minutes of the game and had two shots on Seahawks keeper, Julia Cobb, who saved them both. A final score of 3-0 was reached in the final minute when Shields recorded her second goal on Bonzella's second assist of the game. South River dominated the play of the game with 19 shots on goal allowing only three by Chesapeake. Seahawks keepers Vincent and Cobb combined for the South River's fifth shutout of the season.
