The Northeast Eagles came to South River on a warm overcast afternoon. South River dominated play throughout the first half putting nine shots on goal. Fine play by the Eagles keeper kept the Seahawks off the board and the Seahawks defense kept the play almost completely in the Northeast side of the field for a scoreless half. The second half continued at the same pace until Evelyn Stevens fired a hard shot which the Northeast keeper could not control and Melissa Blair tapped the ball into the goal for the first score of the game. With the Seahawks defense not allowing the Eagles front line any scoring threat the entire game, it appeared Seahawks keeper, Colleen Wagner, would have her eighth shutout of the year. With ten minutes left in the game, South River provided a gift to Northeast. Miscommunication between Wagner and a defender caused a collision knocking both players to the ground leaving a Northeast player alone in front of the goal with the ball, which she passed into the goal to tie the score 1-1. South River had 21 shots and eight corner kicks but were not able to put a second goal on the board and the game ended in a tie.
