For the second game in a row the South River Seahawks had the daunting task of facing another undefeated team.  This time it was the Severna Park Falcons on their home field at Kinder Farm Park.  The South River back line of Allison Criswell, Kayla Carson and Amanda Wijntjes were perfect in the first half and did not allow a shot on goal.  Unfortunately, the Seahawks offense were unable to get past the Falcons keeper and settled for a scoreless first half.  Early in the second half Severna Park was the recipient of an officiating lapse which allowed a breakaway into the Seahawks goal box.  South River keeper, Colleen Wagner, stopped a point-blank shot but the Falcons were able to put the rebound into the goal for a 1-0 lead.  Minutes later Katie Sheridan threaded a twenty yard curving shot past the outstretched hands of the Falcons keeper to tie the game.  South River forward Jayqueline Natoli almost scored the game winner with a twenty yard shot that banged off the inside corner of the goal into the box causing a wild scrum that was successfully cleared by Severna Park.  The game seemed destined to end in a 1-1 tie until a questionable call awarded the Falcons a direct kick with less than three minutes left in the game.  The ensuing kick over the Seahawks wall floated over the outstretched hands of Wagner into the goal for a heartbreaking 2-1 loss for South River although outshooting the Falcons 9-4.
