South River topped Annapolis by a score of 4-0 on a bright sunny day at the Panthers' home field. The Seahawks opened the scoring late in the first half when Caroline Moss passed to an open Cristina Young for the first goal of the game. Katie Sheridan added to the lead early in the second half on an assist by Alexis Ward. Several saves by the Annapolis keeper kept the score close until Gabby Grigsby scored off a corner kick from Sheridan. Amanda Wijntjes scored the final goal of the game after taking a pass from Young and shooting into the lower left corner of the goal. South River totally controlled the tempo of the game and outshot the Panthers 40-0. Only the play of the Annapolis defense and good play from their keeper enabled the Panthers to keep the game close.
