The Seahawks tennis team made quick work of North Point High School from the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference in an out of conference match on Tuesday.  The match was the first of the seasons for South River, which put the team at 1-0 following the 8-1 win over the Eagles.

Seniors Liz Simmons and Sean Miller lead the way at mixed doubles as they moved through North Point quickly, setting the pace for the Seahawks victory.  Simmons and Miller, Xiaosong Shang, and the doubles team of Hannah Parks and Katie Simmons all posted 6-0, 6-0 victories on the day.

The boys' doubles team of sophomores Josh Lobo and Tyler Flemming fought through a tough three set match en route to their first win of the season.  Together, the Flemming brothers and Simmons sisters combined to contribute to five of South River's eight points on the day.

The team continues play tomorrow when they travel to Great Mills High School for a 4:00 p.m. tilt with another SMAC opponent.
