Glen Burnie gave the Seahawks a loss in the Varsity teams home opener. The Gophers were led by pitcher Melanie Slowinski who threw a one hitter and had fourteen stirkeouts. The single hit was given up to sophomore catcher Erika Fregger. Some excellent fielding plays by senior Lauren White and sophomore Melissa DeBari kept the Lady Hawks in the game while trying to find their footing at the plate.
