SOUTHERN SENIOR HIGH: 19
The Seahawks battled Southern in an eight inning slugfest Monday afternoon. Even after scoring ten runs in the third inning, the Hawks found themselves down several runs. They were able to hold the Bulldogs and score seven runs in the final three innings for the win. Junior Tori Barger made three putouts from third base in the final inning to help hold the Bulldogs. Then she drove in the tying run in the bottom of the eighth. Senior Melanie Long drove in the winning run, one of four rbi's that she tallied. Tori Barger went 3 for 5 and drove in three runs. Andrea Jones, Taylor Smith, Jordan Sganga, and Jill Dress all drove in two runs. Gillian Karutman also had an rbi. Junior Morgan O'Brien pitched the final four innings holding the Bulldogs to just three runs.
