Seahawks belt Bel Air 12-1 with hot bats and pitching
South River Seahawks (3-2) beat Bel Air 12-1 in five innings on Tuesday at SRHS after an eight-run explosion in the second inning.
Connor Cox racked up four RBIs on two hits for South River. Cox singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.
Starter Scott Mitchell gave Bel Air fits on the rubber. Bel Air managed just two hits off of South River's pitcher, who allowed no runs, walked three and struck out seven during his four innings of work. Pierce Tyrrell allowed 1 run and struck out 2 in his inning.
Overall, Coach Dunn's squad faced two pitchers and racked up 12 hits in a short game with pairs of hits from Joe Scott, Cox, Craig Sheridan, and Austin Wright. Gabe Vertucci bombed a stand-up triple. Mitchell, Bryan Shores, and Jake Gratz acquired with a single each.
