Scott Mitchell took the ball and the lead as he dominated from the mound while adding two doubles offensively to garner his 7th win of the year while leading the Seahawks to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Broadneck Bruins in 2nd round playoff action.
On the mound, Mitchell pitched a complete game shutout yielding just 3 hits while striking out 13 and walking 2 batters.
Offensively, the Seahawks went up 1-0 on Mitchell's double in the 3rd to score Connor Cox who led off the inning with a walk. Ironically enough, the Seahawks scored again on the same combination in the 5th inning.
The Seahawks finished the scoring with 3 in the 6th inning. Joe Scott led off with an infield single. Gabe Vertucci then contributed a bunt single. Craig Sheridan then walked to load the bases. Kyle Canavan pinch hit and executed a perfect suicide squeeze to plate Scott and Vertucci who scored on the throw to first base. Connor Cox then closed out the scoring with a sac fly to score courtesy runner Jimmy Frank.
