Scott Mitchell took the mound as the Seahawks hosted the Severna Park Falcons in an important game among the County leaders. Mitchell held the Falcons to just 3 runs in a 5-3 victory. Mitchell threw a complete game scattering 6 hits while striking out 8 and walking 6 for a complete-game win.
Offensively, the Seahawks capitalized on some timely hitting to post all 5 runs in the third inning. With two outs, Gabe Vertucci was hit by a pitch. The next batter, Mitchell was walked followed by a single to right by Bryan Shores which scored Vertucci. Nick Sia then reached on an infield single scoring Mitchell. Joe Scott reached on a catcher's interference and advanced to third on Craig Sheridan's single which plated Sia. Scott then scored the 5th run on the tail end of a double steal.
The Seahawks were led by Shores, Sia and Sheridan who all collected 2 hits in the win, and Sheridan added 2 RBI's. The Seahawks move to 9-3 for the season.
