South River cruises past Glen Burnie, 11-1
The Seahawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and never looked back as South River captured an11-1 win in six innings at South River High School. The Seahawks scored five runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Nick Sia, an error, and an RBI double by Ryan Schoenbauer.
South River's Bryan Shores was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. The first baseman doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings. Scott Mitchell led the Seahawks from the mound and allowed just one earned run on three hits and one walk over six innings. Offensively, South River's Sia and Shores combined for five hits and three RBIs.
South River never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on a bases loaded walk. The Seahawks built upon ithe lead with two runs in the third. Glen Burnie managed to score one run in the fifth inning on a home run by Robinson.
