Seahawks get contributions from all, stymie Broadneck 5-0

Craig Sheridan powered South River at the plate and on the mound Friday, leading a team effort as South River redeemed an earlier tough loss and beat Broadneck 5-0 at South River.

Sheridan reached base all four times he stepped to the plate, doubling in the second and singling in the fourth. On the hill, he kept Broadneck off the scoreboard, throwing a complete game shutout -- the Hawks second shutout in as many days. Sheridan gave up five hits while ringing up five.

The Hawks took the lead in the second, scoring a run on an RBI single by Eric Sieber. South River plated two in the fifth, and then followed it up with two more in the sixth. 

Gabe Vertucci had two hits and two runs scored, Jake Gratz had two hits and an RBI, and Nick Raimondo and Scott Mitchell also had RBIs.

The Hawks, now 14-5 overall, look to continue their win streak Monday as they close out the regular season against Annapolis on Senior Day.
