Seahawks fall to North County, 1-0
Scott Mitchell was a bulldog, pitching eight shutout innings and striking out nine, but North County broke through in the bottom of the ninth against Austin Wright to send the Hawks to their fourth loss.
South River had a number of runners in scoring position, but just couldn't quite connect with a key hit. Besides his stellar performance on the mound, Mitchell had two hits, and the rest of the Hawks lineup had eight. The Seahawks also played error-free in the field, with a Nick Raimondo to Jake Gratz put out at the plate being the defensive highlight.
Koby Overstreet got the win in relief for North County. He pitched two innings and allowed no runs.
South River dropped to 10-4 overall.
