Mitchell makes two runs hold up forSouth River Seahawks Varsity in 2-1 win over Severna Park
South River Seahawks defense gave Scott Mitchell gave Mitchell support. Mitchell threw 121 pitches over seven strong innings to carry South River Seahawks Varsity to a 2-1 win over Severna Park in seven innings on Friday at SRHS. He threw for 9 strike outs and 2 walks and saw one one cross the plate.
South River Seahawks Varsity held off Severna Park, as Severna Park was unable to overcome a two-run fourth inning deficit.
Severna Park scored one run in the fifth on an error. Despite its efforts, Severna Park couldn't get over the hump.
The game's last lead went to the Seahawks thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an RBI single by Jake Gratz and an RBI triple by Cox.
South River is 6-0 for the season.
