It's been a long time but finally, the 'Hawks put a hurt on the Wildcats, 9-4, to even their record at 9 wins against 9 losses. Kevin Loftis, in his first ever mound start, pitched a complete game, giving up only 3 earned runs on 5 hits and walking only 1 'Cat. The 'Hawks jumped out to an early lead with 5 runs in the first and 4 more in the second inning to coast to the win.
Ryan Schoenbauer had 2 hits (including a double), Loftis had 3 hits (including a double), Connor Cox had a 2-RBI single, and Joe Scott had 2 RBIs on a squeeze bunt and a sacrifice fly. Other RBIs went to Loftis, Scott Mitchell, Bryan Shores, and Gabe Vertucci. Charlie Hardesty also had a double to round out the 11 hits by the Seahawks.
In a key 4th inning with one out, Arundel used an error, two singles, and a hit batter to score a run. A fly out to right field left the bases jammed with Wildcats and two outs. Arundel sent their All County 2nd Baseman Zach Andrews to the plate and tensions were high. But, Bryan Shores crept behind the runner at first and Loftis whirled with a perfect throw to end the inning with a pick off! Arundel never seriously threatened after that.
