Coach Klessinger has been the Head Wrestling Coach at South River since the 2000-01 season. During his tenure at SRHS, Coach Klessinger's teams have three times qualified for the 3A/4A Maryland State East Regional Dual Championships, have had four state finalists, one state champion, 14 state place winners, and 28 MPSSAA State Qualifiers. Over the past eight seasons, Coach Klessinger has an overall dual-meet record of 102 wins and 58 losses. This past season the "Hawks" Wrestling Team won the most dual-meets in school history winning 28 dual matches.

Prior to coming to South River, Coach Klessinger was the Head Wrestling Coach at Southwest Edgecombe High School in Pinetops, North Carolina for one year and an assistant for another and served one year as an assistant at Millersville University. 

Coach Klessinger is a Millersville University of Pennsylvania graduate where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in secondary education. He was a four-year varsity wrestling starter at the Division I collegiate level and qualfied for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. As a high school wrestler, Coach Klessinger twice placed in the Pennsylvania State Wrestling Tournament.

Coach Klessinger is a physical education teacher at South River High School and has been married to his wife Kristel for 6 years. They have two children, Ellie age 6 and Mason age 4.
